The Promise

Inspired by a true story, THE PROMISE is an intense Danish thriller filled with escalating tension. Maja (Susanne Juhász) made a promise to her now deceased sister: that she would make sure to take care of her 15-year-old nephew, Mathias (Sigurd Dalgas), should anything happen. However, since his mother’s passing, Mathias has been unruly and hanging out with bad company. In a sudden turn of events, Mathias is kidnapped by a ruthless gang that blackmails and threatens to kill him. So, Maja tries every possible way to save him, but since she is stuck in her car hours away from their neighbourhood, it is very difficult for her to help. Becoming scared and anxious, she makes calls, trying to keep her promise that proves more and more difficult. Caught in a race against time, as events escalate to the extreme, Maja must overcome her inner fears and go the extra mile to try and save Mathias. Directed by Hans Fabian Wullenweber, this breathtaking suspense thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat.
