Festival Guest
A longtime collaborator and supporter of the Saxo Scandinavian Film Festival, Christof Wehmeier is the Head of International and Festival Promotion at the Icelandic Film Centre which is part of the new regional organisation called The Five Nordics. Prior to joining the Centre in 2007, he was in senior marketing roles with UIP, Sony and Columbia Pictures where he led campaigns for releases such as Jumanji, My Best Friend‘s Wedding, Stuart Little and more. His experience has also included independent film acquisitions and marketing for films such as Run Lola Run, Shooting Fish and Love Actually to the Nordic market.
During his time in Iceland, Christof has also been coordinating local film festivals and has been instrumental in the development and recognition of the unique voice that Nordic cinema brings to the global stage.
We are thrilled to welcome him to Australia on his first visit, where he will be in attendance on Opening Night in Melbourne and Sydney, plus providing an introduction to Icelandic film When The Light Breaks in Melbourne.
