Bubble

A warm dramatic comedy featuring stellar performances, Bubble follows the story of 16-year-old small town girl Evelina (wonderful newcomer Stella Leppikorpi) who must face reality when she finds out her mother is having an affair. 

When Evelina sees her mother kissing another woman, her world collapses. While her father often has benevolent advice for his daughter, he does not seem to see his marriage is in danger. 

Like most teens, Evelina thinks liberally and wants her own freedom of thought and action. But fearing her parents’ separation, she decides to intervene and keep her parents together by any means necessary. As she tries to stop her mother’s affair and get her parents to fall in love again, dramatic and comedic consequences arise when the bubble finally bursts. 

A sensitive gem about a young person’s desire to control their world from acclaimed Finnish filmmaker Aleksi Salmenperä, this charming, relatable and humourous story explores the challenges of family life, upbringing and relationships.
